FAITHFUL KATE RETURNS FOR ROUND 2
On July 4th 2019, Paul Shugrue, hugely supportive of new artists, debuted the band’s first single, Sippin’ Glass, on WHRV’s OUT OF THE BOX. Local online radio promoter Tom Farley immediately followed, adding it to his Radio Seva‘s playlist. On December 18th 2021, WMUA 91.1 DJ, Jim Long, featured the band for On The Rocks, his Totally 70’s Network show in New York just hours before their first official album release. The following day the band’s debut album, Classic, hit international streaming platforms and local radio stations throughout the region. Barry Friedman, owner of the iconic Birdland Music in Virginia Beach stocked the album, hosted a record signing, and helped the band achieve international distribution. February 5 2022, by way of huge fan support, Sippin’Glass made it to famed US1061 – Real Country when Dave Parker showed his support and sent it out to all his listeners. Waterloo Records in Austin Texas stocked the Album in August 2022. These guys had a great first round in the rock-n-roll ring and are hungry for round two. We checked in with singer, Lee Brinn, to see what’s on the platter for FAITHFUL KATE fans.
WE HAVE A SOUND THAT WORKS FOR US, WE’RE JUST OPENING IT UP A BIT
BUZZ: What’s happening Lee, how are you?
Lee: “laughs’ Doing great, loving everyday, thanks for having me.
BUZZ: Absolutely! Faithful Kate has fans now, great first album!
Lee: We’re still amazed, thanks to everyone who is listening and sharing our songs, you’re so freaking cool, and the radio stations and music stores, especially supporters like Paul Shugrue, Dave Parker, Barry Friedman, Tom Farley, and Jim Long. They just blow our minds.
BUZZ: Great! Rumor is the band is in the recording studio, new album?
Lee: “grins” Of sorts. Yes, an albums worth a songs but not sure if we’ll release the entire compilation all at once. We never stopped writing after the first album so the new songs were more or less written when CLASSIC came out. I admit the songs all fall under a specific theme and that’s great for an album. Albums take lots of time “laughs’. We’re at Master Sound Studios with Rob Ulsh for the final tracks now, ready to crank songs out.
BUZZ: Excellent… Any hints about the tracks? What can we can expect?
Lee: We have a sound that works for us, we’re just opening it up a bit. If cornered I’d say this is more of who we are as a rock band, the temperature has gone up “laughs’ and some tracks will even be more intimate than the last album. Our listeners can expect higher energy, expanded instrumentation, loads of harmony, Hammond B3 organ, slide, and even more soul “smiles”.

BUZZ: Sounds like fun! Will there be a single release for this album?
Lee: Absolutely, The Cut feels like our single release, hope so, sure fun to play.
BUZZ: The Cut? That could be about almost anything, what’s it about?
Lee: Well, its about friendships and how we’re supposed to treat each other. Oh, and its sung by a dead guy “laughs’.
BUZZ: What? That is a very interesting Segway Lee, can’t wait to hear it!
Lee: Thanks, us too “laughs’.
BUZZ: Anything else for us, single release date? Album title? Album release date? Number of new songs?
Lee: “Grins” The single is close, very close. No album title or official album release date has been decided, eight or nine tracks so far. There is a promotional video coming out soon. We had tons of fun in the home studio finishing the songs and SHOWFOLK.CO, our marketing team, shot some of that. We’ll let everyone know when that’s going to drop.
